Market steward vacancy

Our partners, OV, who run the farmer’s market, are recruiting stewards to join their team at the Sunday market.

The ideal candidate would be local to Beckenham Place Park and available most Sundays. This is a part-time and flexible role and they aim to recruit more than one candidate.

The Food and Farmers has received great feedback from the public, with fantastic traders, regular customers, a friendly atmosphere and of course, a beautiful setting. Find out more about the market here.

Job Title: 

· Market Steward  

Job Summary/Description:

· BPP Food & Farmers' Market is looking for someone to steward and eventually manage our flagship market at Beckenham Place Park. 

· We would ideally be looking for someone who lives relatively close to the park and who has some experience working in or being around food markets. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

· To manage the market during opening hours and be the point of contact for traders and visitors to the market should they need assistance. 

· Escort vehicles on/off-site when needed.

· Manage bollard area where vehicles gain access to the mansion/market site.

· Adhere to the waste management system at the end of trading hours.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Experience with stewarding events is desired but not essential.

· Experience trading or being part of food markets is desired but not essential.

· Good communication skills 

· Enthusiastic about food and markets

Salary & Working Hours:

· Maximum shift length - 7:30am-4:30pm (9 hours)

· Shifts may vary in length depending on staff requirements on any given week.

· £110 (9 hours)
