Seasonal festivities

Christmas is coming to Beckenham Place Park BPP and we have plenty of seasonal activities for everyone this December, including a Christmas Day swim and opportunities to buy unique, sustainable gifts. Here’s a roundup of what’s on offer this month.

Christmas events and shopping

In front of the Mansion

Buy your FSC certified Christmas tree from the Christmas tree pop up.

The seasonal kids fair for children under 11 years old opens on 4 December. See more on the Families section below.

In the Homestead courtyard

Bring and Buy on 4 December.

The last Makers Market of the year is on 11 December 10am-4pm. Expect over +11 stalls selling beautiful makes such as hair accessories, candles, clothing, soaps and much more. all handmade! Plus… Vocallective Choir is joining at 12pm to sing some Christmas songs… See more about the makers market here.  

Mini market every Thursday until Christmas. Think Kentish hampers and seasonally themed gifts for dogs and their humans.

Eddie’s Dog Shop is hosting a selfie station in the Homestead courtyard, plus plenty of treats for dogs and their humans - see the dog lovers section below.

On Sundays from 5 December, PTP Coaching will bring their online store to life in the Homestead Courtyard. Perfect for water sports lovers and outdoor adventure enthusiasts!

At the Mansion

Over at the Mansion there's plenty to get you in the festive spirit this winter. Start getting creative at the Christmas Wreath Workshop on 8 December, or take a break from the high street this year and delve into Verso Vintage shop to discover one of a kind retro gems, or gift a fun learning experience to a loved one with a voucher from Know How You Sewing School. You'll also find unique gifts at Christmas Market At The Mansion and Artists Open Studios on 4 December, Human Rights Day Celebration on 11 December and the So Last Century Vintage Fair and Artists Open Studios on 12 December.

 

At the lake

You can now book for the Christmas Day and New Year Day swim. Find out more about what else is happening at the lake this winter.

PTP has an online shop where you can buy water sports-related kit as well as sustainable household items? Now you can also browse and buy from their stall on Sundays in the Homestead Courtyard.

For families

The seasonal kids fair for children under 11 opens on 4 December. Expect Santa, a Punch and Judy show and over 12 other rides or soft play for the younger ones, and of course… plenty of treats such as popcorn, candy and hot chocolate!

For dog lovers

Eddie’s Dog Shop now offer a portable dog washing facility, with warm water. It’s non-electric, pump-action so no noise. Cosy & convenient for your winter dog walks in Beckenham Place Park. 

They’re also selling doggy Christmas gifts, which include local homemade cards, advent calendars, bow ties & bandanas, crackers and treats. The Goodchaps fish range includes doggy Santa Paws Sacks, Baubles and wreaths. JR Pets Three Bird Roast Hampers and much, much, more.

 This festive season Eddie’s shop is hosting a selfie station in the courtyard for your pooch and, well, anyone else who may fancy taking a selfie with a Christmassy background. It’s free but donations are encouraged. All proceeds will be donated to the BPP volunteers to carry on their amazing work.

Food and drink

Downstairs in the Mansion Cafe they’re gearing up for a great festive season!

Towering Roasts are served every Sunday, along with amazing brunches and burgers from Ted’s Burgers – be sure to book to avoid missing out! mansionbar@beckenhamplace.org

They're open Tuesday-Sunday for most of December (apart from Xmas eve, day and boxing day), then they're back in the festive swing of things from December 27, and taking you right through to your New Year’s Day walk.

The Homestead Café has a new seasonal offer! Come and try the new 'Vegan Meat Feast', Winter Soups, Porridge or Mulled Wine. They've also got a new Kimchi and Pineapple pizza special. The hot chocolate and mulled wine are to die for!

Planning your trip

Layer up and visit BPP anytime this winter to enjoy it in its full wintery glory. The park is open 365 days a year. Please visit the travel section of the website for travel details and business hours.

Please note, public toilets and the Homestead café are closed on Christmas day.
