Free activities that support Mental Health

Like all green spaces, Beckenham Place Park is the perfect location to nurture one’s mental and physical health at any time of the year. Forest bathing is a way to do it, and there are also multiple regular free activities in the park that can help combat loneliness:

Health Walks, Tuesdays, walks organised by GCDA Lewisham Healthy Walks and led by volunteers.

NCT walk & talk for parents, Tuesday and Thursday mornings led by a National Childbirth Trust (NCT) volunteer from the Beckenham & Penge branch of the National Childbirth Trust

Emergency Services Walk & Talk, led by WalkTalk999 volunteers

Park Run is a weekly 5km times run with a community feel  [link to video]. Here’s a short video on Instagram to give you a taster  of what to expect

Climate café – A Climate Café is an open, inclusive space for people to get together to talk and act on climate change. The next Climate Cafe in BPP is in June.

Mental Health Swims offer free swims that support mental health. At Beckenham Place Park’s lake, these special swims are led by Omie Dale. Check their website for the next dates.

During Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2022 PTP Coaching have LJ, their Mental Health First Aider, lakeside all week to be a point of contact for swimmers, staff and followers alike.
