Dogs on leads - restricted areas
Dogs love Beckenham Place Park and we warmly welcome our furry friends. Here’s a reminder to dog walkers of some restrictions and facilities available.
Restricted areas
Dogs must be on leads in the pleasure grounds, formal gardens and the Homestead Courtyard. View a map with the restricted areas.
Dogs are not permitted in the lake and in the playground (even on a lead).
Other guidance
For the safety and enjoyment of all involved, dog walkers are asked to take care near the carriageway.
Although the driving speed there is very low, often dogs are let off the lead and run off across the drive and this could cause accidents.
If your dog doesn’t have a good recall or routinely runs at, or jumps on strangers, please keep them on a lead anywhere in the park, whether it is a restricted zone or not. Some dogs, children, vulnerable adults such as older people and those with hidden disabilities may feel anxious in these situations and it’s good practice to be mindful of others.
Everyone’s different and thankfully, the park is large enough for different people to enjoy the park.
Keeping your dog safe
There are dog drinking bowls and a drinking water tap in Homestead Courtyard. Feel free to use this facility and remember… dogs on leads in the Homestead Courtyard!
