⚠️⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE⚠️⚠️ Opening of The Winter Gardens is postponed to Saturday 22 November, following the Met Office Severe Weather Warning
Due to the Amber weather warning issued for Storm Claudia with severe weather conditions and a month’s worth of rain predicted in the next 24 hours, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the launch of The Winter Gardens at Beckenham Place Park until next Saturday, 22 November, to give the grounds time to recover.
This severe wet weather affects both onsite safety during final set-up and the quality of the visitor experience. The safety and well-being of our contractors, staff, and visitors remains our highest priority.
We want everybody to enjoy their visit, and we are contacting all affected customers and ticket holders directly with updated information and guidance on rescheduling existing bookings. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused, and we appreciate the public’s understanding. The rest of Beckenham Place Park remains open as usual.
The Winter Gardens looks forward to welcoming visitors soon when this event opens on Saturday 22 November.

This winter, Beckenham Place Park will host The Winter Gardens, a new festive destination for Lewisham. From Saturday 15 November 2025 to Sunday 4 January 2026, the event will bring together a wide range of attractions, centred around the borough's first covered indoor ice rink.
Visitors can explore a festive market, see performances by the Revel Puck Circus, and try the winter-themed crazy golf course by Plonk Golf. The site will feature live music, fairground rides, and diverse food stalls, while The Winter Lodge offers a dedicated hub with three distinct spaces for adults, families, and games.
At the heart of the event is:
⛸️ Indoor Ice Skating: Lewisham's first all-weather covered rink, with themed sessions planned throughout the season like retro throwbacks or family fun.
Beyond this beautiful ice rink, The Winter Gardens will offer a full programme of activities:
🎪 The Revel Puck Circus: Award-winning circus company founded in East London, performing thrilling shows that combine storytelling, skill, and showmanship.
🎡 Festive Funfair: A fairground with over 15 traditional and festive-themed rides, including family-friendly attractions like Santa’s Runaway Train, Race-O-Rama, and reindeer flying planes.
🎁 The Christmas Market: Over 15 stalls offering handmade gifts, local crafts, ornaments and seasonal food and drink.
⛳ Plonk Golf: A 9-hole, Christmas-themed crazy golf course, packed with glowing lights, loop-da-loops, rolling hills, and a final mind-blowing hole.
🎄 Christmas Trees by O' Christmas Tree: A selection of trees and decorations from London’s premier Christmas tree retailer.
🍭The event will also offer a range of food and drink options, from Yorkshire wraps and gourmet burgers to doughnuts & churros, crepes and a traditional sweet shop.
🐶 The entire site is dog-friendly, and pups can enjoy complimentary pup-a-chinos while you sip something mulled before visiting Eddie’s Dog Shop in the Homestead Courtyard!
Additionally, The Winter Lodge is a dedicated area divided into three distinct spaces:
🍷 The Winter Lodge (18+): An adults-only area offering mulled wine, seasonal cocktails, and craft beer. It provides a quieter retreat with live acoustic music and festive DJ sets.
🎄 The Winter Lodge Rascals: A family-focused zone with board games, Christmas films, comfy seating and a relaxed atmosphere with festive music. The area is dog-friendly and will offer smoothies & mocktails for kids.
🕹️ The Hideaway (All Ages Welcome, Best for Teens & Adults): A lively games bar located between the other two lodges, featuring table tennis, pool, and shuffleboard, with UV gaming sessions at weekends.
