About the opportunity
The current works in this section of the park are due to be completed in the autumn, and will revitalise the river side of the park.
The cafe location is within easy access from Old Bromley Road and adjacent to the new playground and multi-use games area which is under construction. These will complement the existing facilities in the area, all of which will benefit from new landscaping and tree planting to enhance this entrance to the park. A new pedestrian bridge adjacent to the café will link into the wider parkland, which features new and improved habitat areas and activity trails.
The mansion side of the park has seen a grand revival due to £8 million investment the Council has secured to reinstate heritage features and create a new swimming lake for south London – the park now attracts over 1 million visitors per year. It is expected that the newly renovated areas will add to the appeal of the park which now draws regular visitors from across Lewisham, Bromley and much further afield.
