Introduction to your River Ravensbourne

Did you know the Ravensbourne River runs through the east side of Beckenham Place Park?

While we can’t host school groups until the park improvements and facilities are complete, Thames21 run family friendly volunteering sessions in the Ravensbourne River. These are suitable for school aged children to explore the river and help teach our younger generations about the importance of healthy rivers. All children are welcome to attend our river activities throughout the spring and summer holidays as well as weekend or weekday sessions for home education groups.

If you’d like to bring your school aged children from Downham, Bellingham and beyond please contact Beckenham Place Park Community Engagement Officer, Catriona Ross BPPRiver@thames21.org.uk. You can join the mailing list to be the first to receive direct updates and links to register for free events.

Engaging with people of all ages is vital for sustainable environmental improvement. It provides an opportunity to change attitudes and encourage lifelong positive behaviour.
